The scientific name of the common species is Cavia porcellus, with porcellus being Latin for “little pig”. Cavia is New Latin; it is derived from cabiai, the animal’s name in the language of the Galibi tribes once native to French Guiana. Cabiai may be an adaptation of the Portuguese çavia (now savia), which is itself derived from the Tupi word saujá, meaning rat. Guinea pigs are called quwi or jaca in Quechua and cuy or cuyo (plural cuyes, cuyos) in the Spanish of Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. Ironically, breeders tend to use the more formal “cavy” to describe the animal, while in scientific and laboratory contexts, it is far more commonly referred to by the more colloquial “guinea pig”.

Of course it takes a little bit of creativity to get the coloring page activity to be fun. For example if there is a festival just round the corner then get your kid all the coloring pages related to the festival. That way he or she can lean about all the festivals. Make sure to make this fun and interesting by inviting other friends of his age group to your home and have a nice contest among them. Better still tell them to create images of the festival activities and let them exchanges those drawing sheets with each other for coloring. Some cool crayons that you can find are the metallic or glitter ones. Kids love playing with the new media that manufacturers are coming out with these days. Gel pens are even good for the kids to play with. Hopefully you'll put a blanket down in the backseat so that the kids won't get ink or crayon wax on the upholstery while you're driving. Teachers and parents can find an abundance of reinforcement for things they are teaching in educational coloring pages. Children can be instructed in their colors, the alphabet, shapes, seasonal occasions, as well as spiritual education to be strengthened in church or at home. Usually before Dora and her friends are able to arrive at their destination they always undergo several trials. Thus, they need to surpass such challenges before they can finally reach the place. This has been the identity of Dora.
